Close to the borders of France and Luxembourg, Mettlach nestles on the Saar River in the beautiful district of Saarland.

Known locally for its peace and tranquillity there are also plenty of activities in the region with something to offer for everyone. Close by is the Saarschleife where you can walk or cycle through the forest and climb their famous tree top walk to overlook the stunning Saar Bow. When you’ve finished you can enjoy a break at one of the many cafés and restaurants in the area.

Mettlach has a rich history and was built around the site of an ancient abbey – the ‘Old Tower’ still remains today, having been built in circa 989AD. It is a bustling town known for its many outlet stores clustered around the market place, featuring companies such as Lands’ End, Villerory & Boch and Guber, the luxury chocolate makers, plus many others.

Mettlach has direct rail links to Trier and Saarbrucken where you can reach both cities within 45 minutes.

We are also less than 1½ hours away from 3 main airports – Luxembourg Findel, Frankfurt Hahn and Frankfurt International.
